Every pound shop in October sells a plastic pumpkin bucket. They do the job. This trick or treat pumpkin bag knitting pattern is the one that comes out of the cupboard next October instead.
A small, sturdy knitted bag with a jack-o-lantern face cut from black felt, worked in one ball of orange DK yarn on double-pointed needles, and the one they will want to carry every year.
The pattern is written round by round, clearly and in full. You need to be comfortable working in the round on double-pointed needles and able to work a simple decrease.
The i-cord handle is made separately and sewn on. Most knitters finish it over a weekend, and it makes a very good gift to tuck inside with a few sweets.
Designed by Jane Burns. I've been creating knitting and crochet patterns for babies and children for 18 years, so you can trust this one is as straightforward to follow as it looks.
