There is a child somewhere who would wear a dinosaur hat every single day if you let them. This pattern makes that hat, and the matching fingerless mittens to go with it.
Meet the Dinosaur Hat and Mitten Set, a trapper-style hat with knitted ear flaps and a row of spikes along the crown, paired with fingerless mittens carrying their own set of spikes along the back of the hand. Both are worked in the round in DK yarn, in three sizes to fit children aged 1 to 11 years.
The instructions are clear and easy to follow, with each piece worked separately and made up at the end. The spikes are knitted flat and joined into a chain before sewing on, which makes placing them much simpler than it sounds. It knits up quickly and the finished set is a real pleasure to give.
