Jane has given her button-up hooded cardigan a dinosaur theme, by adding knitted spikes down the centre back, and an adorable little tail! These are knitted separately and sewn on to the finished garment.
The project is sized to fit babies and toddlers aged from birth to five years, and would make a fun gift for any little one. It’s knitted in King Cole, Big Value (50g) DK a machine-washable acrylic yarn, but would work well in any DK weight yarn (great stash buster).
Needles:
Straight 3.25mm & 4mm, you may find it easier to use long circulars particularly around the hood. Optional 3.25mm needles for working in the round.
Also Needed:
- Buttons dark grey 2.5cm diameter 4 (4: 4: 6: 6: 6)
- Darning needle
- Stitch markers
- Stitch holder
- Sewing needle and thread
Tension:
Yarn used knits as DK to this tension 22 sts and 30 rows to measure 10 x 10cm (4x4in) over st st using 4mm needles.
