Baby Rudolph the Reindeer Intarsia Christmas Jumper - Knitting Pattern
Baby Rudolph the Reindeer Intarsia Christmas Jumper - Knitting Pattern
The Baby Reindeer sweater is a great introduction to intarsia sweaters. It has a single colour simple intarsia shape, the finer details are knitted and sewn on at the end to produce this charming Christmas jumper.
This drop sleeve jumper has garter bands and a buttonhole fastening at the shoulders. The reindeer makes this the perfect Christmas knit for a little one. The tartan sleeves are worked using a stripe sequence with a column of purl stitches. Once the sleeve is completed, a crochet hook is used to work a column of stitches into the furl ‘ditch’ row. Full instructions are included.
Don’t let the word crochet put you off, the hook is being used only to carry a contrasting colour up a column of purl stitches, rather like you would using a crochet hook to pick up a dropped stitch. I promise once you get the hang of this technique you won't want to stop, it is so satisfying.
